Oil Spill Contingency Plan
Johannesburg – Efforts to transfer oil from a bulk carrier that ran aground off Richards Bay harbour were underway, the department of environmental affairs said on Sunday.
It said a contingency plan was in place.
“The plan is to ensure that the environment and health of marine species in the area are protected.
“At the moment, no oil spill from the vessel has been reported.”
